As a nonresident taxpayer in Wellfleet, Charles Rutz wrote in today’s Cape Cod Times that he has “followed the idea of a dual tax system very closely in many towns. It is very flawed. I was very disturbed to read that Truro finally voted to treat year round and nonresident homeowners differently.” The full opinion piece, linked above, gives a thoughtful perspective on the RTE. Rutz concludes that “This new tax shift is a slippery slope toward destroying, not building, the ‘community’ in Truro.”
