The double whammy of the federal shutdown with its loss of SNAP benefits and close of the shoulder season have made this an especially hard month for some Truro residents experiencing food insecurity.
TPRTA Members have always been generous Truro community members. Your help is needed especially now. Thank you!
We have three ways we can be Good Neighbor Truro – consider support for one or all three.
The Truro Food Pantry – Donations of money or goods are greatly needed and appreciated. The TFP especially needs paper goods, laundry and dish soap, juice boxes, personal care items, anything kids like to eat and any small packages of proteins. The Pantry, located at the Truro Community Center, is open Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM and Thursday 4:00 – 6:00 PM. All donations go directly to benefit TFP clients. For more information, please contact Barbara Bond –bbondtruro@comcast.net.
Sustainable Cape – Sustainable Cape provides locally-sourced, nourishing food to neighbors in need while strengthening Cape Cod’s farming and fishing communities.Your contributions make food from local farmers & fishermen available to SNAP recipients at cost, collect farm-fresh donations, and distribute nutritious produce to SNAP families and individuals. Donations for immediate effect can be made here. If you are interested in volunteering you can make a difference, too.
Truro Community Kitchen – Truro Community Kitchen (TCK) delivers free nourishing meals every Tuesday to any Truro resident, no questions asked. If you’d like to volunteer with TCK, email info@trurocommunitykitchen.org or call 508-514-1833. You can donate directly to TCK here.
