FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 21, 2021
At a Public Hearing this afternoon the Truro Board of Health voted to amend their masking Rule and Order to require all customers and staff to wear a cloth face covering inside all business establishments and places of assembly.
The patrons and workers at stores, offices, motels, and restaurants must wear face coverings while inside common areas. Mask wearing by staff and guests at personal service businesses or salons is also required.
Masking for all persons remains mandatory inside Public Buildings, and on all public and private forms of transportation systems such as taxi’s, ride-shares and the CCRTA flex bus, as well as in all transportation shelters. Masking and maintaining at least 6’ physical distance between yourself and individuals who are not members of your household remain effective ways to protect yourself and others.
The Board of Health strongly recommends vaccination for all residents of Truro over the age of 5 and mRNA Booster shots for fully vaccinated individuals 16 and older, at least 6 months after their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
The Truro Health Department staff are available to answer questions about where you can get Vaccinated or register for a booster shot. The Health Department will continue to keep the public advised of further developments regarding COVID-19.
