In early 2025, a number of part-times resident taxpayer associations and community groups joined forces to create MPRTA – the MA Part-Time Resident Taxpayers Alliance. While informal collaboration had existed for a while, the Affordable Homes Act (AHA) allowance of up to a 50% RTE rate for 25 designated seasonal communities galvanized part-timers across the State.

TPRTA is a founding member of MPRTA and is proud to stand with other sister organizations in advocating for the end of taxation without representation.
AHA created the Seasonal Communities Advisory Committee and part of their work is to establish guidelines for the implementation of AHA. Comments to the State’s Executive Office for Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) were due on October 30, 2025. MPRTA recently submitted these recommendations, most of which focus on the RTE, better alternatives for tax relief, and ways to bring real tax relief to members of our communities in need on a fair and equitable basis.
