Developing Environmentally Responsible Affordable Housing In Truro
NOTE: the next – and possibly last – public discussion of the Cloverleaf Project will be held at theZBA MEETING | Feb 24| 5:30 PM | Town Hall
Concerned citizens raise questions and propose alternatives to ensure that a major affordable housing project will install a wastewater treatment system capable of reducing the excessive nitrate loading foreseen by the Cape Cod Commission for this site.
Of particular concern is the potential impact for the neighborhoods down-flow from the Cloverleaf site – the areas of Pond Village and Professional Heights. This area has already been identified in 2014 as an area of critical concern due to higher than average nitrate loading.
Because we share the goal of developing environmentally responsible affordable housing in Truro, TPRTA had been asked to inform Truro property owners of the potential threat to groundwater safety in North Truro and to inform them of opportunities to learn more and to express their views on the matter to Town officials while there is still time to beneficially effect the outcome. Response was solid and impactful.
For those who have not yet had a chance to weight in on the matter, we link to the most recent fact sheet prepared and distributed by this group. Information on how to obtain additional info and express views to Town officials can be found in this document.
