On Friday, October 14, newly appointed Police Chief John Lundborn was placed under arrest by a Truro police officer for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. While driving a Truro police cruiser off duty, he was involved in a one-car crash in North Truro. Mr. Lundborn was arraigned in Orleans District Court on October 15, and an investigation by the Board of Selectmen is underway. Pending completion of that investigation, he has been placed on administrative leave, and Lt Kyle Takakjian has been appointed Acting Chief. It is unclear at this time if an independent investigation will be conducted by the Truro police, the State police, and/or any other appropriate body. The Town’s full response awaits, at a minimum, the completion of the BoS’s investigation.
